PROFESSOR DR ABD KARIM ALIAS (Lead Facilitator)
He is a professor of food technology with over 21 years of experiences in teaching and learning and current Director of the Centre for Development of Academic Excellence, Universiti Sains Malaysia. He is currently responsible to design and run a professional development programme in technology-enhanced learning and student-centred learning for the academic staff. He is also involved as a trainer for numerous workshops especially on using technology in teaching and learning. He is now leading a project to develop open educational resources (OER) for the university and so far has succeeded to produce more than 20 course-wares. He is also a co-Chairman of the Technical Committee for Malaysian MOOCs initiative, a project by the Ministry of Education. Dr Karim’s expertise has won him the inaugural USM Excellence Educator Award and he was also the recipient of the prestigious National Academic Award for teaching. He has published more than 130 publications in international citation-indexed journals, books and encyclopaedia chapters.

PROFESSOR DR MOHAMED AMIN EMBI
Dr. Mohamed Amin Embi is a professor of technology-enhanced learning at the Faculty of Education, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. He is a leading a consultant, expert and master trainer on e-Learning in Malaysia. Under the Malaysian Higher Education Leadership Academy’s Training of Master Trainers Programme, he has conducted numerous specialized training on e-Learning, interactive lecture, e-content development, Web 2.0 and OER. He is also a strong proponent of Open Educational Resources and an active contributor of Web 2.0 resources. His recent publication entitled ‘Web 2.0 Tools in Education Series’ has recorded more than 920,000 ‘reads’ in Scrbd.com. A Web 2.0 mobile application that he has developed known as JiT2U (Just-in-time Training 2U) has also attracted educators from more than 107 countries worldwide. He was the former Chairman of the Council of the Malaysian Public HEIs e-Learning Coordinators and the President of the Mobile Learning Association of Malaysia. He is recipient of the ISESCO Prize for Science & Technology in 2010 (for e-Learning Technology), the National Academic Award 2006 (Teaching Innovation), the Muslim Outstanding Award 2008 (Education) and the Malaysia Achievement Award 2012 (Outstanding Achievements in Education Category).

DR. ROSEMALIZA MOHD KAMALLUDEEN
DR Rosemaliza is an educator at the Kulliyyah of Education, International Islamic University Malaysia. She holds a PhD. in Career and Technical Education from Virginia Polytechnic and State University, USA. She received her M.Ed. from the International Islamic University Malaysia in Instructional Technology and a B.Sc. in Computer Engineering from NYU Polytechnic, USA. Dr Rosemaliza was a Senior Project Management and Sales Engineer at Panasonic Systems Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd for 6 years before she ventured into the education and training industry out of passion. She served as a teacher in the private education sector for 4 years, and is currently a faculty member in the Instructional Technology unit at the Kulliyyah of Education, IIUM. She is also a proud member of the Professional Learning Facilitators (PLF) family and a certified SOIF coach. Dr Rosemaliza actively conducts learning events in instructional technology & strategies, English Language culture-building programmes, self-motivation & team development, and is also an accredited learning facilitator for the Take Charge! Professional Learning Facilitation System.

MR ZAID ALI ALSAGOFF
Zaid Ali Alsagoff is the e-Learning Manager and Fellow of the Centre for Medical Education at the International Medical University. He is most known beyond IMU for his widely read e-learning blog ZaidLearn and his creatively designed presentations on SlideShare. His presentations have been viewed more than 1.6 million times by people from 200+ countries, and he has around 15,000 followers on SlideShare. In 2013, he was ranked the No. 1 e-Learning Mover and Shaker in the World. He also organized the first 1-day online seminar held by a Malaysian University on the 22 May, 2013. In 2012, he hosted the first webinar series to the public by a Malaysian University, which had world renowned speakers in online education. The production cost for this webinar series was zero ringgit. In 2008, he was part of the first evaluation team to audit and evaluate universities in Saudi Arabia for their e-learning implementations. He is also an AKEPT trainer and a member of the National e-Learning and MOOC Committees (under KPM) in Malaysia. |
DR AISYAH SAAD
Dr Aisyah Saad is Program Chairperson for Pharmaceutical Chemistry discipline at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). She is a registered pharmacist with working experience in hospital and retail pharmacies, and holds a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from University of Nottingham, United Kingdom. She was a Visiting Research Fellow at the Institute for Glycomics, Gold Coast Australia–working in the labs of Professor Mark von Itzstein, co-inventor of Zanamivir influenza drug. Dr Aisyah currently serves as Editor-in-Chief for Malaysia Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences. One of Dr Aisyah’s first memory of ‘slides’ is when she was in primary school–playing with her dad’s colourful teaching transparencies and 35 mm slides (film slides). Her ‘serious’ journey into presentation design and delivery started nearly 10 years ago when she joined USM. The journey changed the way she look at presentations. Several of her teaching slides are featured as example slides in the best-selling presentation books by Garr Reynolds, viz. Presentation Zen and Presentation Zen Design. She has helped designed slides for the USM Pharmacy School's Dean, Deputy Deans and for news conference/research expo for her colleagues. Dr Aisyah Saad is the recipient of USM Excellence Educator Award 2012 for her creative and interactive approaches in teaching and learning. Recently, her application was shortlisted for the inaugural Wharton-QS Stars Reimagine Education Awards 2014, the “Oscars” of Innovations in Higher Education (Hybrid Learning category). She won the Best Paper Presenter for Interactive Lecture in the first national Symposium on Teaching and Learning on e-Learning and Interactive Lecture held in AKEPT (Malaysian Higher Education Leadership Academy)–using Prezi to tell her research ‘story' in a creative and engaging manner. Dr Aisyah conducts workshops on presentation design for USM Centre for Development of Academic Excellence (CDAE), and Interactive Lecture at AKEPT.
